♥ Hello my lovelies,
I hope you have all had the most wonderful start to April… HOW IS IT APRIL ALREADY?!?! This year is going so fast I can not even explain to you. I mean the weirdest feeling in the world to me right now is knowing that in just under 6 weeks I will have finished my first year of UNI!!! crazy right. I know I have been absent a little the last few months over here on this blog but I promise I will be working hard to change this over the next few months. As you can see by the title of this blog I thought today would be an amazing chance to review something that everyone has been raving about recently.
Recently Makeup Revolution shook up the beauty community by bringing us one of the best drugstore concealers, for only £4. Once I heard they were bringing out foundation sticks, I knew I had to get my hands on them. I was so hyped to test these out as Makeup Revolution is hands down one of my favourite drug store brands. I was so impressed with the Conceal & Define’s that if these came anywhere close, I knew I was going to love them. especially if they came with such great colour range especially for someone who spends 80% of the year looking like Casper the friendly ghost.
So, could this be the best drugstore foundation for just £5? Here’s my Makeup Revolution Foundation Sticks review…
The packaging itself was enough to sway me. If you’re also a packaging freak, you’re going to love this. It’s a beautiful matte, nude pink colour with the signature rose gold Makeup Revolution logo. Definitely Insta-worthy and beaut addition to anyone’s makeup bag. The Makeup Revolution stock at the Superdrug I visited was limited as they had sold out of a lot of these foundations (always a good sign) but I was lucky enough to pick up to shades in F1 and F2 as I was not sure as to which would match best. Currently I am using F1 but F2 will be perfect for the times when I have a slight tan to my skin. The full range does stock 18 shades with good diversity and plans to extend the range even further in the future.
They’re labelled Fast Base for a good reason, that’s for sure. I’ve never been a fan of using foundation sticks because normally I don’t like the texture but this one is insane. I find it 10x easier to apply which is great if you need to be doing your makeup quickly because you have places to be. The Makeup Revolution Sticks apply really smoothly on to the skin. I hate it when foundation sticks tug the skin. But there’s no tugging or dry feeling here, just butter smooth foundation. Blending is best done with a brush but I did use a beauty blender for testing purposes and it worked really well.
Putting the price aside, this is one of my favourite foundations of all time. Including high-end. I know, for £5 it doesn’t sound believable but trust me, it’s amazing. Obviously, everyone’s preference is different but the Fast Base Sticks just seem to work with my skin, not against it. I love the formula, it is suitable for dry skin and oily – dependant on if you use setting powder or not. I would give this foundation a solid 9/10.
Okay my babes,
That is all for today’s post so I hope you enjoyed it and have a lovely day or evening whatever time of the day it maybe for you. If you have tried this foundation I would love to hear your thoughts on it so comment below and lets have a chat in the comment section xox
